Hi guys! I'm SUPER excited to start this new journey and kick off my blog, EllieVated Style. I’ve always believed that style is less about rules and more about confidence, and this blog is my way of embracing that fully. I’ve decided to start this space not only to showcase what fashion means to me, but also to inspire others to gain confidence and express their inner style. To me, style isn’t about following trends, it’s about curating identity.

Who I Am (and Why Fashion Matters to Me)
I would be lying if I said fashion hasn’t always been a part of my life. I’m pretty sure my parents could attest to the fact that I started asking to go shopping the day I learned to walk. I’ve always loved embracing who I am on the inside, with fabrics on the outside.
Luckily, my parents always encouraged my siblings and me to be our true, authentic selves. They let me choose my outfits from a very young age. (Looking back at some of those fashion choices... I wish they hadn’t 😅.) But honestly, I think that freedom helped build my confidence when it came to expressing my personal style. I’ll always be grateful to have grown up in a household that encouraged individuality, as long as it made us happy.

Growing up in a small town in Minnesota, unique fashion wasn’t exactly a priority for most people. It’s not like Los Angeles or New York City, where individuality is more mainstream. I’ve always felt that because fashion isn’t heavily embraced here, a lot of people, including myself, have struggled with the confidence to wear what truly feels like them. That’s a big part of why I’m starting this blog.
EllieVated Style will definitely be tailored to those who’ve ever felt the pressure to dress a certain way based on their environment or community. If you've ever hesitated to wear what makes you happy because of where you live or what people might think, this space is for you.
What EllieVated Style Stands For
Though some may disagree, I’ve always believed your inner identity will struggle to shine through if you hide it on the outside. For example, ever since I can remember, I’ve been obsessed (emphasis on the word obsessed) with early 2000s fashion. I've loved dressing in those specific trends, but because that style wasn’t considered “cool” at the time, wearing it often made me stand out—in a way that wasn’t always welcomed.
In high school, the negativity started to impact my confidence to continue to be me. I stopped wearing what I truly loved and began choosing more “socially acceptable” outfits. For a few years, I felt like I was blending in more, but also feeling more lost. Of course, there were other reasons for that, too, but I definitely believe that when I stopped expressing my identity on the outside, it made me more confused about who I was on the inside.
Now, I want to inspire those reading this blog to set aside fear, doubt, and outside noise, and own who they are through fashion. Your style is your story, and it deserves to be told, unapologetically.
Have you ever been lying in bed at night thinking of a super cute outfit to wear the next day, but when morning comes, you put it on, look in the mirror, and get too nervous to walk out the door in it? So you change into something “safer”? That moment right there is exactly what you need to push past in order to fully tap into your personal style.
Although it’s easier said than done, for anyone who's dreamed of dressing a certain way but felt too afraid to commit, I want this blog to be your encouragement. Bite the bullet. Wear the thing. Be the person you always dreamed of. Some people might think that sounds dramatic, but I promise: once you find the confidence to express your true self, the feeling of being lost begins to fade. And that pressure to be someone you’re not? It starts to disappear, too.
What You Can Expect
Intro posts are always a bit lame, so I cannot WAIT to start sharing fun, creative, and engaging content that goes way beyond bios and background info. I plan to use this blog as a reflection of who I am on the inside and a space to showcase my creativity as I move closer to my future career.
Right now, I’m a social media and marketing intern, and I hope to someday land a spot in the fashion industry (difficult, I know). I already have so many fun ideas for this blog, and I can’t wait to start chatting all things fashion with you guys!
Here’s what you can expect from EllieVated Style:
Fashion trend commentary
Thrifting adventures
Styling tips
Confidence-building posts
And so much more 🙌
Even though my personal style is definitely rooted in early 2000s fashion (and trust me, I’ll be writing lots about that), I’ll also share content that speaks to other trends and styles. This blog is meant to be inclusive, supportive, and inspiring to all readers, no matter your style lane.
I plan to publish new posts weekly—although that might change depending on how busy I am, or how much extra time I have to post even more! :)
