EllieVatedStyle: My Current Favorite Summer Fashion Trends

Hey guys! Welcome back to EllieVated Style! Sorry for not posting last week, but we're back and better than ever. I'm super excited to write this blog today, as we will discuss my current favorite Summer trends. Of course, I love to preach individuality when it comes to fashion; however, following cute trends is always super fun and a great opportunity to put your own twist and personal touch on the trends.

1. Capri Pants

   I know this trend has been very controversial- you either love it or you hate it, but I have always been obsessed and am so happy that they are in style right now! Although they are not necessarily practical, they aren't pants and they aren't shorts, but my favorite (and in my opinion, only way) to style capris is to pair them with a cute kitten heel or platform sandal, flip-flop, or wedge. In my personal opinion, sneakers are a NO GO when it comes to Capri pants.

   2. Ponchos

   This one is probably my favorite, not only because they are super cute, but they are also a Ynn2k revived trend. I also want to make a public PSA, that I started bringing ponchos back in 2022- just for the flex record;)

   
   

   Ponchos are so easy to style, since they go with just about everything, and they come in so many different colors, patterns, and cuts. My best tip to get your hands on an affordable poncho is to look for them on Depop or thrift them! Ponchos are typically pretty easy to thrift since this is a fairly new trend.

   3. Ibiza Themed Outfits

I struggled coming up with a better name for this new summer trend, but the colors, rhinestones, ruffles, and hibiscus flowers give Hawaii/Ibiza clubbing vibes- and obsessed is an understatement. Those who have seen my closet know just how much I love bright and fun colors, so this is a trend I can get behind.

This is a perfect summertime trend. I would best describe it as anything brightly colored, with lots of sparkle, sequins, flower patterns (typically hibiscus), flower clips in the hair, and, of course, so many accessories. I would recommend shopping on Outcast, Edikted, or Depop to find pieces that match this aesthetic!

4. Flip Flops

   I know what you're thinking- flip-flops never go out of style.... Which is true due to their practicality, flip-flops never went "out of style", but they haven't necessarily been "in style" for a while. In the

   

   past couple of years, most people would wear alternatives such as Birkenstocks, slides, sandals, etc.

   
   

   That being said, I'm SO happy that the OG thong sandal is back in style. They are so comfy, and can be styled up or down. I will say, I prefer a platform flip-flop, rather than a regular flat flip-flop, but that's just me, and OG flat flip-flop is just as acceptable!

5. Bright Colors

   FINALLY!!! After the "clean girl aesthetic" resurgence, neutral colors were all the rage for a bit too long. I might be biased since this is another Y2k revived trend, but I think wearing bright, fun colors is the only way to go, especially for the summer time.

   
   

   I would say the most trending summer colors are butter yellow, chartreuse, baby and hot pink, powder blue, cobalt, and tangerine. These are so fun to style and can easily be paired with each other.
